Bademlik Design Festival

As Poçolana Works, we focused on the nature of structural earth—particularly within an architectural context—under the theme RE-/ of the 2025 Bademlik Design Festival organized by student communities at Eskişehir Osmangazi University. In our workshop titled “Cyclical Traces with Earth Plaster,” we prepared natural earth plasters together and applied them onto individual earth panels. Each panel evolved into an improvised narrative shaped by fundamental design principles and by playful yet continuous relationships established between basic design elements. Circles, rectangles, lines, curves… These panels, formed through simple yet fluid geometries and the pigment recipes we created with natural materials, came together to form a collective mural and were exhibited in the open air. This temporary dialogue we established with the language of earth plaster transformed into traces, textures, forms, and surfaces through which we explored the behaviors and characteristics of the material.
