What We Do?

We create buildings and artistic interventions using natural building materials in both urban and rural settings. Our collective specializes in Clay Murals, Artistic Earthen Plasters, Lime Plasters, and Tadelakt Design and Applications. Engaging with both traditional and contemporary natural construction techniques, Poçolana organizes workshops and educational programs in Türkiye and internationally to promote the use of sustainable materials and ecological principles. Through the natural wall artworks, we seek to tell Social Stories and highlight Community Narratives.

Our Visions

We envision a practice where nature, craft, and culture are inseparable. Poçolana Works builds upon the native artistry of nature, interpreting geological textures, embodied gestures, and historical knowledge through ecological design.
As professionals from diverse fields, the collective’s members value multidisciplinary collaborations. By connecting archaeological heritage with contemporary making, we foster architectural spaces that hold memory, invite participation, and strengthen community ties.

Who Is Poçolana?

Poçolana Works is a nomadic Collective founded in 2020 by architects Betül Ergün, Ceren Yıldırım and Mina Öner, with its foundations tracing back to a natural building site in 2017. The Collective started creating natural building material based artistic wall designs and continued designing and building sustainable structures using natural building materials. Its projects are dynamic, growing and adapting through diverse collaborations. Poçolana’s mission is to design and produce spaces that are both aesthetically and functionally engaging using natural building materials, while also promoting ecological architecture through educational initiatives accessible to a wide audience.
